the art of living life to your fullest

Quebec City - Le Monastère des Augustines

2025

WHY I CREATED THIS FIELD TRIP

Spring is a time of transition.

It honours the recent quiet and patience of the grey winter while it launches the flirtatious energy of summer’s promise.

The lengthening days and warmer winds inspire emergence and exploration. Just like the budding trees and the blooming daffodils, I start to stir as the sensation of sunshine warms my face and elicits a smile of desire.

Inspired to do some spring cleaning I neatly fold away my winter sweaters with gratitude for their needed warmth and gleefully reach for happy floral prints with a sense of anticipation and freedom.

It's an entre temps, a time of both/and, a season of getting ready.

The best springs are the ones where I intentionally ready the closets of my inner world. When I take deep breaths that honour the deeper reflective time of winter and nurture the tickle of hope for the carefree freedom of walking barefoot in the summer grass.

Transition times are important times of grounding and self-acknowledgment.

They are a time of both restoration and awakening. Their yin/yang nature is perfect for playing with both deep intentional nurturing and spontaneous curiosity.

It was on a search to do just that, that I found Le Monastère Des Augustines, a location steeped in deep healing traditions located in the heart of a vibrant, fun-loving city. It perfectly captures this esprit de Printemps, to nurture me as I prepared to burst forth into a brighter, shinier me.

It has a blend of both the quiet within its walls and the hustle and bustle of old town just outside the gates.  It gives me space to be thoughtful with how I expend my energy, to pace myself with my intense desire to run out and be in it all and see everyone and everything.

It gives me a chance to consider what life balance I am seeking, cradle myself in a commitment to self-care and connect with community.

Ready to rebalance and reawaken? Join me,

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

As the chill of winter leaves the air I feel the urge to stretch, to awaken, to ready myself for the promise of long days and renewed freedom.

How do you use the time of transition to rejuvenate?

IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

what you will explore

Blending Stop the teetering of trying to focus on too many things. Life balance needs the steadiness of knowing your Self at your centre and integrating your commitments into your whole life blend.

Relaxation and Rejuvenation Put yourself first on your list. Create a pause in your routine, step away from your screen and everyone else’s needs, and experience the sweet joy of being with your Self.

Awaken  We forget that we too, like the seasons. go through cycles of renewal. Let’s pay attention to who we wish to emerge as. Take the time to stretch, breathe and reset your energy for the joy of winter to come.

Play Spring is a time to remember how it is to flirt with possibility and anticipation. To discover, with innocence and freedom. To delight with all your senses. To laugh and stride and play again.

Do you know what it will feel like to live your life to its fullest?

NOW IS THE TIME

WELLNESS ACTIVITIES

Daily wellness movement classes and self-guided reflection give us healing, creativity and an appreciation of this historic building.

AWE-INSPIRING CULTURE AND HISTORY

Committed to rest and renewal and healing Les Augustines created the first hospital north of Mexico and the foundation of the health system in Quebec today. They were daring women, who believed in healing bodies and spirits. Their naturopathic gardens were legendary, their continued strategic thinking is exemplary as they continue to live their vows of service by offering us the chance to stay.

OLD WORLD DELIGHT

Quebec City will transport you immediately to the Old World with its cobblestoned charm and winding narrow streets. Come step into another landscape where we can forget the garish light of our screens and immerse in the view that will take your breath away.

where we will stay

A haven of peace in the heart of the city, Le Monastère des Augustines is part of the historic Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery, one of the most important classified heritage sites within Old Quebec — itself a world heritage site. Respectfully restored, the original buildings blend harmoniously with the new construction’s contemporary architecture.

The site’s heritage value stems from its European architectural tradition, perimeter wall, vast garden dating to 17th century New France, and the powerful social role it played right from the beginning.

The Cloisters have been sensitively restored and redesigned. Le Monastère offers its guests a unique experience in holistic health, along with a rare opportunity to connect directly with the Augustinian Sisters’ remarkable heritage.

It welcomes people of all cultures and beliefs and is proud to operate its facilities sustainably.

Fully expressed, authentic, present leaders are a necessary attribute of today’s most innovative and competitive organizations.

Personal leadership is the foundation of a noteworthy leadership culture. As a leader, I am motivated by a sense of personal purpose and I need to feel recharged so that I can better engage those around me. By observing my patterns, beliefs, and choices through experiential learning and coaching, I am able to make lasting transformations that will influence my leadership choices and this organization’s trajectories.

Who we are is how we lead.
